Safety, health summit focuses on Delta issues
MISSISSIPPI STATE -- A March 1 Safety and Health Summit in Stoneville will highlight some of the concerns unique to Mississippians living in rural areas.
The event is targeting farmers, farm workers, health-care professionals and others with special concerns about health-care issues in their region.
Preregistration is $5 per person for those registering before Feb. 22 and $10 per person after that date. Registration begins at 8 a.m. the day of the event, and the program will take place from 8:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. in the Charles W. Capps Jr. Entrepreneurial Center at the Delta Research and Extension Center.
Sessions will address respiratory issues, hearing loss, preventive screenings, pesticide awareness and all-terrain vehicle and equipment safety.
